BRIAN SHIMER

I’m Brian Shimer, a follower of Jesus and a peacemaker. I came to Genesis after serving as a pastor for 33 years in four local church congregations. I am familiar with how a destructive conflict can divide people within the local church and any organization. I have a passion to bring peace, to disrupt disunity and division, and see reconciliation enter communities. Hope and healing are possible for every individual and for each community. For these decades, I’ve worked to restore peace in local churches and parachurch organizations. Married for 39 years, my wife, Karen, and I have four grown daughters, two sons by marriage, five grandchildren, and many other chosen family members, as well. When not working in mediation, you’ll find me writing or reading, watercolor painting or doing dishes, and perhaps, in summer, jumping from rocks into cold rivers or lakes.
